DJ Perry Louis is not from the usual school of DJs; he started his schooling on the dance floor dancing to Rare Groove, Jazz Funk, Boogie and Jazz in the ‘70s, and still performs today with his international Jazz Dance group the JazzCotech Dancers. What started as a clear love for the music and “Perry’s Red Box of 45”s has grown into an amazing Vinyl collection, a quarter of which is autographed by the original artists. Perry has had recidencies in some of the UK’s most famous Jazz clubs, such as the Jazz Café and Ronnie Scott’s and the South London Soul Train in London, as well as venues in Spain, France and Glasgow. Having DJd (and often danced) for nearly all of the greats such as Roy Ayers, Lonnie Liston Smith, Marlena Shaw, George Duke, James Brown, Sharron Jones, Charles Bradley, Lee Fields, Jeff Lorber, Brand New Heavies, Fatback Band, Blackbyrds, Incognito, Light of the World, Earth Wind & Fire, George Clinton & Parliament, Gil Scott-Heron, Terry Callier and many, many more, he has also co-produced 2 Jazz Dance albums with Dave O’Higgins and released 5 compilations under his own promotion, Messin’ Around. His monthly Sunday afternoon Jazz Dance session.
