A true “Soul Brother” of Nigerian descent, this South London born DJ was exposed to various elements of predominantly black music across the genres of 2 Step Rare Groove, Soul, Funk, Disco, Boogie, House, Jazz, Afrobeat, RnB, Rap, Reggae, Bashment, UK House/Garage, and Jungle. Babs Flow caught the bug early and started collecting Vinyl seriously in the early 80s.
Regularly DJ-ing and also as a Hypeman/MC at private parties/bars/club nights since the early 90s on the London scene, before moving up to Scotland where the journey continued with him accepting multiple residencies across both Dance or Urban music themed bars and club nights a revelation that his genuine love for music is a constant.
Locally in his adopted hometown of Edinburgh circa 2001, Babs Flow has featured as a guest DJ at Heavy Gossip, Think Twice both at Cabaret Voltaire, Soul Kitchen, SoulCity, Edinburgh Rocks, Ladies on Rotation, Sounds of Soul UK, The Street, further afield guest slots at the Hoochie Coochie – Newcastle, 51 Disciples of Disco (Bathgate), Echo Soundsystem(Glasgow) and also made the lineup 3 years straight at VocalBooth Weekender in Spain.
Also over the years been Resident DJ @ Sounds of Soul/Sugarhill, City Cafe, Rick’s Bar, Bar Soba, Sygn, Copper Blossom, 99 Hanover, Groove Theory, Mousetrap, Newsroom Bar. Currently you’ll find him spinning at seasonal parties by The Get Down and B2B with DJ Trendy Wendy at The Street in Edinburgh.
